Last Thursday we got to go to Mm’s grandmother’s farm in Lexington. Michael got the day off unexpectedly and so we went and it was splendidly sunny and the company was delightful. Mam Maw Betty Jo showed me the tobacco on the farm and also explained its growing process, she took us on a tour of the lane to see Thomas’ place and the rest of the neighbors and she was kind enough to make lunch for us. The pictures are all on Michael’s phone so I’ll have to update them later. Michael-like he always does- was able to spot out the smallest critters: a baby frog, a spit bug and a four-leaf clover. He’s good at this. The cows were CRAZY. I thought a few times that we were going to get charged but Michael just shrugged it off explaining that they would’ve been much more agitated than they were if they were going to charge us. Oh brother. I asked him what we were supposed to do in that case and he smiled and said, “Find and climb the closest fence”. You should have seen those momma’s with their calves. Dangerous.
